Nita’s Craft Holiday Beer Calendar
Nita Beer is excited to announce a collaboration to release our 3rd annual Holiday Craft Beer Calendar … like an Advent calendar but with beer! 23 Ontario craft breweries are participating in the 2020 version of the calendar. Each brewery will share a unique beer. Would you like to know what beers they are? Sorry … that’s part of the surprise!
Nita’s first beer calendar from 2018 originated from an idea from Poncho and had 12 breweries participating. Since then, Nita hasn’t looked back. “Each year we ask try to do something unique, allowing beer lovers to have a beer adventure with friends and family” says Andy Nita, Owner and Chief Beer Officer at Nita Beer Company. “Although it sounds like a simple but fantastic undertaking, executing takes time, planning and coordination.” Even into the 3rd year there are still many logistical challenges to overcome.
Everyone who purchases a Holiday Craft Beer Calendar will have 24 beers delivered to them in November. The beer calendar will include an identifier numbered for each day of December until the 24th. Every day in December until the 25th, people can get their beer surprise!
23 breweries from across the eastern and central Ontario region are participating, including as far west as Grain and Grit from Hamilton, Andy’s hometown, and as far east as Brasserie Étienne Brûlé Brewery in Embrun. Kichesippi Beer, Covered Bridge Brewing, Whitewater Brewing Co., Rorschach Beer, Ridgerock Brewing Co., 5 Paddles Brewing, Orleans Brewing Company, Perth Brewing Company, Spearhead Beer, Common Good Beer, Calabogie Brewing Co., Cartwright Springs, Broadhead Brewing, Evergreen Craft Ales, Whiprsnapr Brewing, Grain and Grit Beer, Junction Craft, Tuque de Broue, Riverhead Brewing, Brew Revolution, Brewery, Weatherhead Brew Co. and Nita Beer round out the breweries. Some of these are favourites from last year; some are new to the beer calendar this year. Andy decided to design 2 new beers specifically for this year’s calendar.
“This year has been challenging for many businesses. So especially this year, we wanted to celebrate the fantastic collaborative nature of craft beer in Ontario,” says Nita. “This product gets distributed throughout Ontario and allows breweries the chance to get new followers and customers outside of their local area. We cannot promise that everyone is going to love every beer, but we know it’s going to be an adventure for those who choose to partake!”
Andy personally does several journeys from Ottawa to Hamilton to coordinate the logistics of getting beer from brewery partners and delivering beer to several Beer Stores en route. “It’s got to be easy for our partners to participate. Everyone’s got a lot on their mind this year.”
Beer clubs in Ontario are welcome to connect with Nita directly to see if Nita can make the shipping logistics and costs easier for everyone. Beer clubs ordering more than 12 calendars for their club are eligible to receive a set of custom engraved glasses to go with each calendar.
Customers can purchase from now until early November directly from nitabeer.com for delivery to Ontario. Delivery to local Ottawans is included. Customers can also wait until November to pick up at select Beer Store locations.
