Welcome to the details of Nita Beer's 1st annual Sports Swap Day. We are hoping to create an opportunity for fun while also giving people the opportunity to swap, buy and sell their used sports equipment.

Where and when is the Sports Swap being held?
The Sports Swap Pop Up is being held at Nita Beer Company -- a great Ottawa-based craft brewery at 190 Colonnade Rd., Unit 17. This means that in addition to the Sports Swap, there will be lots of fun and beer available. The Sports Swap will be happening in the parking area in front of the retail store. We will have some tents up in the lot as well. The event will run on August 18 from noon until 5PM. There will be a brewery tour just after lunch with some folks coming in with Brew Donkey so it should be an exciting day!
How does it work?
It's pretty simple really. It's like a community garage sale all in one spot. Once you sign up, we will get you some tags for your equipment so people know it's available. We will do our best to post some of the items so people will know what to expect. Then you show up to haggle and negotiate with buyers or swappers for your used sporting goods.
What if I can't make it on August 18, can I still participate?
Absolutely! Sign up through the on-line form with your items for sale and we will act as your rep on site. We won't haggle though ... the price will be the price. That way we won't have any awkward conversations with you afterwards.
What does it cost?
It's free to swap, buy and sell. We hope that you might consider a donation to Jumpstart so families with financial need can get their kids into sports. There will be some things on site that will cost money (beer, bbq for instance) but you are not obligated to buy anything.
How do I sign up?
Use this link to provide us some details about you, whether you are going to be available for the afternoon and the equipment you plan to swap or sell. Most of this is so we can create the tags for your equipment. Please provide us this information than August 15 to allow us time to get things ready. If you are not going to be available for the event, you can begin to drop off any equipment starting August 15. If you are just looking to buy, no sign up required!!!
What kind of equipment can I sell?
You can sell any sports equipment. We ask that you keep it to sports equipment so that we don't get any kitchen sinks. If in the view of Nita Beer Company, your item is not appropriate for sale, we reserve the right to ask you to remove your item for sale or we will remove it on your behalf. If your items are larger than 1m x 1m x 1m in any dimension, we ask that you attend the event and only bring the equipment to the brewery on the day of the event. We don't have a lot of space for large equipment and want to ensure your equipment is safely stored.
What happens if my equipment doesn't sell?
At the end of the event, if your equipment has not sold, we ask that you take it home with you that night. If you weren't able to attend the event, we will keep your items for a week (until August 25), after which time, we will donate them
What activities will be available during the sports swap event?
Beer and BBQ will be available throughout the afternoon. Unfortunately, beer needs to stay inside as we are not licensed for beer outside. We will be adding more activities as we do more planning for the event.
What are you raising money for?
We will be raising money for Jumpstart - a charity so families in financial need can get their kids into sports.
What does Nita Beer get out of this?
Honestly, we are looking to have a great time and meet lots of new and old faces -- enjoy some time with people that love sports. Hopefully we raise some money for a worthy cause. And maybe you'll consider having a tasty beverage and you'll look at some of the things we have available for sports teams. For those of you that may not be beer lovers, maybe you will try our tasty Pineapple beer - even Bridget's mom likes this one!
